SENIOR YEAR
This is generally a four-year course, covering 130 semester hours (or 1950 clock hours) for the Bachelor of Biblical Education. It is composed of both Biblical and general education courses. It functions in essentially two roles. The first role is that of foundational education for a vocational ministry. The second role is that it serves as preparation for graduate-level seminary work. |
FALL SEMESTER - SENIOR YEAR (TOTAL HOURS: 18)
BI 101: Intro to Biblical Theology Methods (3 Hours)
A presentaion of the tools and methods for the inductive study of Scripture, including observation, interpretation (hermeneutics), application, and correlation.
NT 307: Hebrews (3 Hours)
A study of Hebrews, with an emphasis on problem passages.
TH 412: Current Issues in Theology (3 Hours)
An investigation and evaluation of current trends, dialogue, and theological thought within evangelical circles.
CE 700: Teaching Methods (3 Hours)
An evaluation of various teaching methods, with applications made in the classroom. Emphasizes learner-centered teaching skills, includung how to design lesson plans.
Elective (3 Hours)
PM 608: Homiletics I (3 Hours)
A study of the preparation and delivery of formal sermons, with a view to church pulpit ministry. This men's class requires the recommendation of the student's local church leadership for enrollement.
SPRING SEMESTER - SENIOR YEAR (TOTAL HOURS: 16)
NT 308: Daniel & Revelation (3 Hours)
These two books are studied together, with an emphasis on prophecy and its unfolding in the past, present, and the future ages.
TH 410: Senior Theology Seminar (3 Hours)
A seminar study of major Bible doctrines; emphasis on the student's formulation and defense of his or her own biblical convictions; recent historical and contemporary trends in theology. Prerequisites: Senior standing, TH 401-404
PM 609: Homiletics II (3 Hours)
This course continues the study of PM 608 with an emphasis on correlating biblical exegesis and preaching. The student is required to prepare and preach two sermons.

This course focuses the student on independent ministry participation with oversight.
